According the US Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkley Laboratories, $50 Billion of energy is lost out of America’s buildings with the weak point being windows. Windows are the single largest source of energy loss in buildings. To ensure our planet’s survival, the energy efficiency of buildings must improve exponentially.

Glass Technology / Windows OEMs

General background as a first coating on glass started back in 1980. This is JLM's first product launch after graduating from U of Delaware.

LYONS INDUSTRIES

Devon, PA 19333

Philadelphia-based Cantol Special Chemical firm developed an industrial lens cleaner that repels fingerprints & dust.  J Lyons Marketing acquired the rights for the retail and OEM market. The retail market went nationally in 10,000 camera stores through a San Monica, CA distributor. The OEM's most significant client was Xerox on a private label deal. Xerox's study on their high-end copiers showed that service calls could be reduced by 25% due to less dust build-up.

Renovation glass coating technology is based on colloidal sol-gel materials, where specially formulated solutions self-assemble into a monolayer surface structure. The use of wet chemical technology makes it possible to use simple low tech application methods like spray and wipe, spray atomising or dip coating.

After the curing, which is the evaporation of the carrier liquid, the material bonds to the surface and the coating will self-assemble into the formulated and ultra-thin coating layer. The final coating layer thickness is in the nanoscale and is completely invisible. Functions can be added. Within the limitation of the overall thickness, it is also possible to add scratch resistance and dust-reducing properties.

This structure gives the glass a highly durable hydrophobic effect.

The completely invisible treatment cannot be removed by water, cleaning agent or high-pressure equipment. The extremely thin coating is a result of the lowest consumption rate on the market. Coverage rates of 400 square meters per litre (14,000 square feet per gallon) are possible. NG 1010, for example, is the most cost-effective and fastest-to-apply glass coating solution available.

The external glass is coated with nanotechnology, an easy-to-clean, self-cleaning coating. Repels dirt, salt, acid etc. with a five-year warranty.

GREEN STEAM

A new advanced battery chemistry requires a “unique” graphite as a thermal battery for manufacturing steam processes for in-house use.  This is a green steam value proposition by innovative thermal battery — a game changer The window manufacturing process uses steam: First, a piece of vinyl is laid over the aluminium, then steam is applied, and the vinyl is suctioned down onto the frame until it forms perfectly. Additional dedicated steam generation facility that uses wood waste from their production process to power the steam used in their window manufacturing.

A New Surface Coating that Creates Chemistry with Disinfectant Which Holds for a Longer Duration

Adaptive Surface Technologies (AST) is a Cambridge, MA-based industrial technology company that produces materials and coatings that repel fluids, contaminants, and biological fouling. To assist in the ongoing fight against COVID-19, AST is leveraging its unique technology platform to develop antiviral surface coatings.

Based on the commercial success of its marine biofouling solution, SLIPS® Foul Protect™, AST believes it can create an improved antiviral surface that interacts with existing commercial disinfectant solutions to improve biocidal activity and disinfecting efficiency.  Our unique surface technology has already demonstrated an ability to repel (non-marine) bacterial fouling, even without the use of active biocidal agents.  To create an improved antiviral surface, we will incorporate surface chemistries that loosely bind to existing antiviral disinfectant solutions.  By engineering the surface in this way, more of the biocidal actives can be absorbed, extending the duration of contact between the virus and the disinfectant.  For additional details on this approach, please see the attached slides.

As COVID-19 is creating a “new normal”, AST sees a long-term increased market need for effectively disinfected surfaces.  We believe that an existing commercial disinfectant platform can be greatly enhanced by pairing with a new surface coating that creates a chemistry match with the disinfectant and holds it in place for a longer duration.

AST is seeking a partnership with a sizeable corporate player—likely a specialty chemical producer or a manufacturer/distributor of hygiene products.  We are pursuing a Joint Development Agreement with such a partner to invest in the creation of this technical solution and bring it to market.  This partner would have the ability to exclusively license the coating technology within a target market segment and/or geographical region, and market their disinfecting products with a “system solution.”  This is a stand alone product as part of a disinfectant system.

Breakthrough Antimicrobial  Green Technology, Founded in 2003, Laboratory M2 (LM2)  based in Quebec, Canada, develops and markets a botanically derived,  breakthrough antimicrobial technology. Its mission: Provide alternative, breakthrough disinfecting technologies that reduce both exposure to toxic chemicals and the development of antibiotic resistance. We aim to meet our customers’ needs in solving today’s toughest biosecurity and pathogenic problems.

Thymox has been developed to answer this need.

Our US disinfectant formulation, which is on EPA's N list of disinfectants for use against COVID-19, has been thoroughly tested in 3rd party US GLP labs for efficacy. It also bears claims against several key pathogenic agents.

At the same time, it has a toxicity category of IV, which is the best that can be awarded for a registered disinfectant; it doesn't even have a safety word, ensuring the safety of users. It is also non-corrosive, allowing users to preserve their equipment's condition.

No pre-cleaning is required, no PPE is required and no rinsing is required, making Thymox highly convenient to use often. Furthermore, Thymox also claims to sanitise soft surfaces such as fabrics, and it is an excellent all-purpose cleaner on its own merit.
